Kimberlyn Leary, PhD, ABPP

Kimberlyn Leary, Ph.D., ABPPChief Psychologist and Director of Psychology and Psychology Training, Cambridge Health Alliance; Associate Professor of Psychology, Harvard Medical School

Kimberlyn Leary received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where she also completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship. She is also a graduate of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. Before joining CHA, Dr. Leary was the Associate Director of the University of Michigan Psychological Clinic and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the University of Michigan's Department of Psychology. She is also currently a faculty affiliate at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, a faculty member at both the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute and the Psychoanalytic Institute of New England, and a member of the Council of Scholars at the Austen Riggs's Erikson Institute.

Dr. Leary's clinical and research interests focus on the role of race and culture in clinical treatment, supervision and in organizations. Other interests are focused at interdisciplinary work at the intersection of clinical practice and conflict management, including the study of influence, innovation and collaborative problem-solving. She holds diplomates in clinical psychology and psychoanalysis. In 2009 she received a Master in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Dr. Leary teaches a freshman seminar on Leadership and Negotiation at Harvard University

Marla Eby, PhD

Marla Eby, Ph.D.Associate Director of Psychology and Psychology Training, Director of Postdoctoral Training in Psychology Cambridge Health Alliance; Assistant Professor of Psychology, Harvard Medical School.

Marla Eby received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Boston University and completed her internship at The Cambridge Hospital (now part of Cambridge Health Alliance). She has worked in a variety of positions since 1988, including Chief Psychologist on both adult and child inpatient units, and Associate Director of Psychology. Dr. Eby also serves the Psychology Division as Director of Post-Doctoral Training and the Psychiatry Department as Director of Supervision. She is currently on the Board of APPIC. Dr. Eby has a longstanding interest in psychological assessment and teaches courses related to testing at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at Harvard University. Other major interests include long-term treatment of psychotic patients, issues of envy and jealousy, the history of the asylum, and presentation of psychological themes in museum exhibits. She also has a strong commitment to the care of the severely mentally ill, particularly in the public sector.

Patricia Harney, PhD

Patricia Harney, Ph.D.Associate Director of Psychology and Psychology Training, Director of Internship Training in Psychology, Cambridge Health Alliance; Instructor, Harvard Medical School

Patricia Harney received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kansas, and completed her internship at The Cambridge Hospital. She then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at CHA's Victims of Violence Program, and a post-graduate fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. She serves as the Director of Psychology Internship Training at CHA. Her publications pertain to the psychotherapeutic treatment of trauma, and clinical collaboration across disciplines. In addition to this specialization, her clinical interests include the influence of culture, class, gender and sexual identity in self development and the psychotherapeutic process. Dr. Harney is also an Advanced Candidate at the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis.

Carolyn Conklin, PhD

Carolyn Conklin, Ph.D.Director of Practicum Training in Psychology, Cambridge Health Alliance; Instructor, Harvard Medical School

Carolyn Conklin received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and completed her internship at Cambridge Health Alliance. She completed fellowship training at CHA's Program for Psychotherapy, Boston University's Personality Disorders Research Program, and Two Brattle Center. She serves as the Director of CHA's Psychology Practicum Training Program. Dr. Conklin's research has focused chiefly on the classification of borderline personality disorder and the assessment of countertransference phenomena. At CHA, she teaches on psychodynamic formulation of personality processes and pathology, projective testing, and assessment and treatment of borderline personality disorder, including Mentalization Based Treatment, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Transference-Focused Therapy. Her clinical interests include integrative psychodynamic approaches in psychotherapy with adolescents and adults across the full-range of the psychological spectrum.

Marilyn Levin

Lena GiordanoAdministrative Training Coordinator, Division of Psychology

Marilyn Levin received her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University and a M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from Northeastern University. After working as an O.T. in psychiatric hospital settings for ten years, she worked at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health as Chief Occupational Therapist, Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, and Coordinator of Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services. After leaving DMH, she served as Executive Director of the R.I. Commission on the Deaf & Hard of Hearing and the Director of Case Management and Social Services for the MA Commission for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing.
